Haiquan Lu, Ph.D, is a full professor in Advanced Medical Research Institute at Shandong University in China. Dr. Lu received his Ph.D. at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and received his post-doc training at Johns Hopkins University, in the lab of Dr. Gregg L. Semenza, the 2019 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine. Dr. Lu has long been devoted to the study of cancer stem cell regulation. His team has demonstrated hypoxia- and chemotherapy-induced enrichment of cancer stem cells, and delineated the critical role of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) in the regulation of this process. He has published many peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals including J Clin Invest, PNAS, Cancer Res, Cell Rep, Theranostics, Gene Dis in recent years, and his work has been cited for more than 2800 times. He has served as associated editor of Cancer Plus, guest editor of Cells, and reviewer of journals including Nat Commun, Theranostics, Mol Ther, and Mol Cancer Ther.
